CHAPTER FIVE

Whereas the troubles started elsewhere in in Belfast in August 1969 Ardoyne was having running battles from as far back as January 1969. This came about when the Unionist First Minister ,they called him Prime Minister then, of so called “Northern Ireland,” Capt. Terence O’Neill. O’Neill was trying to woo the Catholic people for their votes because of a strong challenge in the election from Ian Paisley, now Prime Minister of the Coconut Colony.
